Not only did she go out of her way to customize each offer we made, but when the right home finally came along she kept us up-to-date, explained the crazy world of financing and most importantly was a part of the full-process, not just the loan. After 3 months (yes 3 months!) working with another lending company and being told 2 times (yes 2 times!) that my condo had a problem and that we couldn’t get financing, we found Max. My realtor was told about Max and his team. Max was called by my realtor and Max called me immediately. That was 2 weeks ago. Today I closed on my condo. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company. I told Max that his website was right on the money. The comments about what others say about the inability to close on a condo are spot on, that is exactly was I was told about this condo. Thank you Max and your team for saving my sanity.

I was not a first time buyer but it was still a very intimidating process. A lien on other property that was affecting my credit scores and worked tirelessly to get it removed and get me the score I deserved, which then provided me with a lower interest rate. We had a difficult request to refinance an owner-finance loan into a traditional loan. We had already been turned away by other lenders because of the complexity and had been trying to get this done for almost a year. We quickly learned that this was an usual process, but this team never made us feel that burden. We had less than cooperative sellers and a pain financial institution to deal with. Needless to say, we got everything completed within 30 days and now own the house of our dreams!

They got our FHA loan done in just over two weeks. This is after four other lenders indicated that there was “no way we could do that loan.” The Leaman team understands how to properly work with people who are divorced who pay alimony which affects your debt-to-income ratio. You should call and ask for Misty Lynch. Misty knows how to get things done and will respond to you and understands technology.

‘Nuff said. I’ve gone through Max TWICE now to purchase my homes. The second time, the builder was throwing big incentives to use their lender, and I STILL went with Max because I KNOW that he’ll get everything done. That’s how good he is. There’s no better alternative and no amount of money that replaces the peace of mind, knowing that Max can close on the day you need and you won’t have any surprises at the closing table. Because the last thing you want is more surprises when it comes to buying a house. Max will shoot your straight and find the BEST solution for you. He thinks outside the box and knows the ins and outs better than anyone I’ve ever met. If/when I buy another home, Max will certainly be my mortgage provider, once again.

Before putting an offer on a home he sat down me during the pre-qualification phase to discuss what I would feel comfortable paying rather than what I was qualified to purchase. Max’s team was also great during the closing period. Max reached out to me personally when a problem came up during the appraisal a few days before the closing date. I was shopping for loans at a particularly volatile time in the market, and Amanda locked in a great rate for me, just before rates increased. Other lenders I shopped were not willing to lock in rates, and as a result, the rate I was offered from Max Leaman beat all the others by a long shot! Max personally handled my loan and I had the pleasure of occasionally dealing with some other team members as well. They could not have made buying my first home a more pleasant experience. They answered all of my questions the same day, even when he was on vacation. We just closed on our first home ten days ago and the Leaman Team went above and beyond to make the process smooth, efficient, and dare I say it kind of fun. The loan officer we worked with was Jori. We looked at homes for 2.5 months, made offers on 4 homes, came under contract for 3, and eventually purchased 1. No matter what we needed, Jori was prompt, patient, kind, and swift in replying to my dumb questions and processing all the necessary paperwork. We turned in our last documents about a week before closing, which meant no rushing around and no last minute screw-ups the night before closing. Within 2 hours of closing, our loan was funded and we were going back to the title company for our house keys. These people know what they’re doing.

This recent purchase was exceptionally more challenging than the last, since 2 days before we were set to close on the home, it was flooded by Harvey. Getting the documents to them, signing paper work and following up with additional documents with Michelle was easy and all done electronically (super convenient!). I traveled overseas in the midsts of the purchase of my home and his team truly took care of me in a seemless manner. I worked with Amanda Stewart when buying my first home and she was a delight to work with during the entire process, which actually got somewhat complex because in the middle of it, I decided I wanted to try and work some renovations/repairs into the mortgage. Three hours later, my final approval was rescinded. They were quite apologetic. Turns out an underwriter on their team had lived in Austin years before and was positive that nothing in east Austin was worth what I was paying (despite the fact that the seller, a friend, was cutting me a huge break!). Pay no mind to the fact that they had already gotten me to cash out my retirement account with the city, sell my car and call in every favor owed. I was out of luck and out of time–the contract was expiring. I frantically searched around and found the Leaman Team. After talking to Max for an hour he called the seller and explained that he needs an extra few weeks and that he could make the transaction happen. He did it. I’m in the home I’ve adored since it was built in 2008 and I’m sending everyone who needs lending power his way. If you don’t like risk–go with Max.

Max and his team were incredibly helpful throughout the process and quickly responded to every question we had (which was a lot!) I felt very comfortable with all of the advice Max provided. Our loan closed on time without any issues. I would definitely use Max again and recommend him to anyone looking for a mortgage broker.
